Synovial cyst
It is swelling in the wrist that appears spontaneously following a fragility of the joint capsule where pockets form and fill with gelatinous liquid. This is usually due to simple repetitive motions (writing, mouse and keyboard) and presents no major threat.
DIAGNOSTIC
The diagnosis is clinical. The size may vary and it can be mobile, firm to the touch and may be very illogical.

TREATMENT
- Medical treatment: Puncture needle aspiration with additional infiltration by local corticosteroids.
- Surgical treatment: Removal of the cyst under localized anesthesia and reclosing (origin).

FOLLOW - EVOLUTION
There is a high recurrence rate (40%) when using the puncture procedure but can be repeated multiple times without risk.
With surgery, there is only a 20% recurrence rate but there is minimal scarring.
